JERILYN K.B.

I'm a 58 year-old female client at Naples Fitness in Long Beach.
I am not a fan of working out; however, I have made the commitment to meet with my trainer David for a minimum of two days per week. I'm not coordinated and am very much out of shape, but David manages to make my sessions fun and I look forward to seeing him after a stressful day at work. He pushes me just enough, and I know that he wants me to get fit – that’s the reason I keep coming back. The routines are varied for each session and I am very proud that David has brought jumping rope back into my life and that I am able to do a series of crunches and pushups. I couldn't have done these things successfully a year ago. I've also had to replace most of my wardrobe due to weight loss -- a nice problem to have.

Naples Fitness is a comfortable, professional, clean, and friendly place to be. It is small enough to provide its clients with the personal attention they are seeking in a nurturing environment. The trainers, both male and female, represent a variety of ethnicities and ages and they treat the clients who come into the studio with respect and greet them with warm smiles. The clients also come in a variety of ethnicities, ages, and fitness levels and this makes Naples Fitness a great place to be.

Several years ago I began working with Liz to help in my recovery following rotator cuff surgery and to obtain relief from constant back pain following an accident in 1984. Liz started me off with a complete assessment and then developed a program tailored to my needs. Four years later I’m proud to say that I can do many things today without pain that I couldn’t do a few years ago. The strength, flexibility and range of motion I’ve gained while working with Liz is incredible. Looking better in my clothes (you should see my muscles!) and feeling better mentally (life is good!) is just the icing on the cake! Liz constantly changes up my routine to keep me progressing toward even better health and fitness. Besides being a great trainer, Liz has become a personal friend. If you are serious about getting healthy and fit, I highly recommend Liz as the personal trainer for you. With her combination of skills, knowledge and abilities she is able to get you healthier and stronger while working around any physical limitations you might have.

When I broke my leg ten years ago, my orthopedist suggested a bone scan which revealed that I had osteoporosis.  I was only 57 years old at the time.  My mother had already lost 5 inches of height and I wanted to avoid experiencing the same fate.  My doctor suggested that the only way to build and/or maintain bone density was to do resistance training. That is when I began to lift weights. In the years that I have worked with Rachelle I have improved my bone density so much that I am now in the osteopenia zone and have lost only 1 inch. My blood-pressure is under control and my HDL and LDL levels are terrific.

I recently broke my arm, but was able to return to the gym after only 1 week because Rachelle was able to modify my workout to accommodate my cast and sling.  My doctor was amazed at how quickly I recovered full use of my wrist and arm.  I did not suffer from locked shoulder or elbow syndrome because of the exercise. Thanks Rachelle!

I have worked with Hunter Cook for a little over two years and in that time I have lost over 70% of my original weight-loss goal, developed better eating habits, gained strength, and increased self-confidence.  His no-nonsense, customized approach to training is a breath of fresh air…no cookie-cutter workout routines. When planning my workouts, Hunter takes into consideration my limitations (both real and perceived) as well as my strengths. Each session builds upon the previous with periodic reviews to make sure I am doing the exercises correctly. Since my goal was weight loss and getting into better shape, nutrition is always discussed.

Hunter is approachable and always willing to answer questions in between sessions.  His guidance has been an integral part of my success.  Yes, I am the one working out and choosing my food, but without Hunter’s guidance, I would not be where I am today.  During the holidays (2009 and 2010) I lost weight without feeling as if I missed out on anything.  Don’t let his youthful appearance fool you; he is wise and intuitive beyond his years!

    KEITH F. - 1992 Olympian

I can’t thank Lindsey enough for helping me get my life back on track.  I went from being 143 pounds the day I swam in the 1992 Olympic finals, to 319 pounds in November 2009. That’s almost a 200-pound weight gain.  As of February 2011, I weighed in at 234 pounds, which is almost a 100-pound weight loss! But more importantly my personal trainer, Lindsey, gave me back my confidence.  My training sessions are challenging but fun and are always the highlight of my day.  I look forward to achieving many more milestones with Lindsey.  Thank you again for everything.

Adrean has trained me for over 5 years, including through my wedding, a major sports injury, pregnancy, and post-baby body.  He has helped me achieve my weight and physique goals throughout each phase.  He pays close attention to detail, keeps me motivated and can be quite entertaining at 6 in the morning! I’d recommend Adrean to anyone looking for a dedicated, knowledgeable trainer who can make getting stronger, leaner and healthier a fun and rewarding process. Adrean has managed to keep me motivated, safe and happy with working out.  Something only a great trainer can do!

Why does a 63-year-old woman need a personal trainer?  Why does anyone need a personal trainer?  The answer is simple: training with David Rosett at Naples Fitness has given me a strong, healthy body that has nothing to do with my age and everything to do with how I feel about myself.  I like feeling good…and when I feel good, I look good.  I also enjoy the attention to detail that David and his trainers provide.  I am challenged every day I train, but I know I'm not going to injure myself.  An additional perk is sharing the studio with people of all ages who work at maintaining health.
Each trainer offers his/her clients the push, encouragement, and variety that keep us moving forward toward our goals.  Perhaps it is this shared passion that makes each of us - client and trainer - a part of the Naples Fitness community

About 2 ½ years ago, I finally gathered up the courage to walk into Naples Fitness and inquire about their personal training programs. After meeting with Justin Hall, he designed a specialized program for me.  The program was designed to get my body stronger and work on my balance so I could improve my ability to continue down hill skiing at a high level.  I also wanted to get stronger so I could pull in big tuna and marlin when offshore fishing in Mexico.
I’m 64 years old; I work out 3 days a week and I’m in the best shape of my life. Thanks to Justin, I can ski the black diamond runs in Mammoth, Ca. and land the big fish in Baja, Mexico.  Thanks Naples Fitness! I look forward to working out with Justin for many years to come.

Working out with Josiah has been great! He personalizes the workouts so it is tailored to you specifically and switches it up enough so you don't get bored. I have lost over 40 lbs with Josiah and am very grateful for his dedication to his clients.  Without him, I am not sure I would have accomplished it on my own.
